Kevin McMahon – OWNER / Head Coach

Kevin McMahon is a former elite power tumbler and USA Gymnastics National Team Coach.

Kevin started coaching in 1996 in Dubuque before moving to Clermont, Florida in 2001 to work with 1988 USA Gymnastics Olympic Team Member, Brandy Johnson.  There he began coaching levels 7 - 10 and helped start the elite program where they had placed athletes on the Junior Olympic National Team and USA Gymnastics National Team! They had athletes earn gymnastics scholarships to Universities such as Florida, Illinois, Auburn, Michigan, Alabama, and Washington.

Kevin moved to Hawaii in 2006 to start working at a new program called Island Tumblers. There he was the head coach of the Level 8 Hawaii Regional Team for several years, and had athletes qualify to level 9 Western Nationals and level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals.  He also had athletes make the TOPs (Talent Opportunity Program) National Team.

He then coached two years in California for current UCLA Co-Head Coach, 1992 Olympian, and 2004 Olympic Coach, Chris Waller. He had athletes make the TOPs National Team and helped out with the UCLA Gymnastics Camps.  

Besides coaching, Kevin has choreographed for numerous gyms in the United States and every year, choreographs for multiple gyms including some of the gyms in Hawaii!

Outside of gymnastics, he enjoys outdoor activities and can be found taking mini vacations, 4 wheeling and hiking.  He loves traveling and spent one summer backpacking Europe.  His favorite food is sushi.

Kevin recently moved back into the Dubuque area and is looking forward to building a strong gymnastics presence in the Dubuque community and surrounding areas.

 

Anne Fagan - COACH

Anne has been involved in gymnastics since 1974 and besides to start a family, has never been away from the sport. She immediately developed an appreciation for the sport and competed from 1976 to 1984.  Her commitment to helping kids learn about gymnastics shines through her teaching and her happy-go-lucky attitude is contagious!  

Anne originally founded All Around Academy of Gymnastics in 1999 and has gone on to coach gymnasts up to level 10. Her love for the sport is unconditional and has taught her that hard work pays off.

Fun fact: Anne was one of Coach Kevin’s coaches!

 

Alanna Callahan - COACH

Alanna began her career in gymnastics at the age of 3.  She competed in the USAG Gymnastics program and attended Winona State University to compete at the collegiate level.  Alanna also began judging at the age of 16 and later went on to judge level 10 gymnastics and college meets across the country!  

She has coached gymnastics through her high school and college years, including time at Chelsea Piers in New York City.  Alanna shares her love of the sport with others through coaching.

After college, Alanna became a mother/baby nurse and worked until she had her first child.  She spent time home with her family until All Around Gymnastics moved to Dubuque.  Her family loves being in the gym!  Outside of gymnastics, Alanna enjoys spending time with her husband and 6 children, being outside, traveling, and running! 

 

Deidre Navarro - Coach

Deidre comes all the way from Gilbert, Arizona where she cheered competitively for USA Youth Fitness Center, home of Olympic Bronze Medalist, Alex Naddour. Deidre enjoyed competing for their international co-ed level five team where they traveled as far as the USASF Cheerleading Worlds in Orlando, Florida. She has been coaching gymnastics, tumbling and cheer for the past five years and as head coach she went undefeated with two junior level teams.

Deidre shares her knowledge of the sport by coaching at summer camps, fun nights, and birthday parties. She loves to spend any minute of her free time with her daughter Elizabeth and is eager to get her into gymnastics. She is happy to have relocated and found a new place she can call home here at All Around Academy of Gymnastics. 

 

Trina murray - coach

Trina Murray is a Dubuque transplant, having left Chicago to follow her college sweetheart. In her younger year, she trained in both dance and gymnastics and flipped and leaped her way across stages throughout the Midwest. Since moving to Dubuque, she has taught and coached everything from preschool to high school tumblers. A former high school teacher, Trina has loved being able to help students learn new skills and find their confidence through her coaching role at All Around Gymnastics.

She loves Harry Potter, slingin’ Scentsy wax, all things Disney and singing her heart out at Karaoke. But her most favorite job is being a proud mom 7 year old twin daughters, Rowan and Brynn, whom you’re sure to see flipping around All Around, their second home!

 

Dani Campbell - Coach

Dani started gymnastics at the age of 4 and competed in the USAG program until age 13, her favorite events were bars and beam.  When she stopped competing she was a level 10 gymnast.

Outside of gymnastics she enjoys spending time with her husband and four young children, going to the lake, and being a Duhawk. Gymnastics is what she loved to do growing up and hopes that she can be a part of  helping others make those same memories.

 

Emily McAuliffe - COACH

Emily McAuliffe began competing in gymnastics at age 8 and was coached by Anne Fagan until she was 12. Emily graduated early from high school and came back to All Around to start coaching kids and share her passion for the sport.

In her free time, Emily loves to hang out with her sister and spend time with her dog, Moose. She is very excited to be back at All Around where she can help gymnasts reach their goals and become the very best they can be.

 

De’shaun madkins

De’Shaun began his competitive career in 2011 as a high school cheerleader. De’Shaun spent his high school years as a South Milwaukee Cheerleader where he competed for his high school team for two years. During this time De’Shaun also competed for two All-Star cheerleading teams Heat Athletics in Sussex, Wisconsin and Rockstar Athletics in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Both of these teams have gone and qualified for the biggest cheerleading competition in Orlando, Florida.

De’Shaun came to Dubuque after being scouted by one of the collegiate teams in town. Originally De’Shaun was set on being a University of Toledo cheerleader in Toledo, Ohio but decided to come to Dubuque in hopes of pursuing his legal career at the University of Iowa. Since then, De’Shaun competed for the University of Dubuque Cheer and Stunt team for three years and Iowa Elite’s level 6 team out in Cedar Rapids for one year. 

De’Shaun enjoy coaching because it allows him to step away from his professional work and provide the support and resources to his athletes that his coaches gifted to him long ago.

 

Clarice martin

Clarice grew up competing in dance until the age of 8 when she then decided to put away the ballet shoes and join gymnastics. From there she made it began basic gymnastics class, but quickly qualified for level 5 at the Gym Spot located in her hometown. Clarice did competitive gymnastics for 8 years. Once she hit high school she decided to join the high school gymnastics team where she competed on junior varsity. In between those 8 years she also joined her towns competitive cheerleading team called MJFL and made it onto varsity her first year. 

 She just graduated from Loras College with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. She hopes to one day work in a psychiatric unit within the hospital setting. In her four years of college she ran track for Loras College, studied abroad in Ireland for a semester where she was given the opportunity to work at a preschool that specialized in working with children who have physical and mental disabilities, attended a service trip to Kentucky, and gained endless experience working at The Dubuque Rescue Mission and MercyOne medical center in the psychiatric unit. 

As of now, Clarice loves coaching excel silver, intermediate, beginners, and tumbling, and finds so much joy in seeing the gymnasts succeed.

carter phillips - Coach

Carter started gymnastics, power tumbling specifically, when he was 15. He started as sub-advanced (competed USTA) and is now an elite tumbler.  Carter is currently competing USTA and has tried out for the USTA national team.  He also competed with a few world champions/ attendees. Carter has been through countless camps and learned many tumbling drills. He has experience in spotting tumbling, trampoline, double mini, synchronized trampoline, and artistic gymnastics.

Carter is devoted to helping kids get better and loves watching them grow and thrive to be the best gymnast they can be. 

 
 

Kara Turnis - Coach

Kara is currently studying at NICC to become an RN. She want to further her career as a pediatric nurse at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. When not coaching gymnastics she is babysitting all of her crazy yet, wonderful kiddos that she love so much and studying like crazy for school!  Kara loves being a coach here at All Around Gymnastics because she work with such amazing kids!

 

Erin Dema- Coach

Erin started tumbling and trampoline at the age of 7. She competed tumbling for 10 years and competed trampoline for 5 years through USTA and AAU. Erin has been coaching for the past 5 years through after school programs and starting her own gym before finally finding her way to All Around! Her love of the sport pushes her to inspire her students to become better gymnasts

 Erin enjoys spending time with her friends and family and especially her 4 fur babies. When she is not coaching at All Around, she is working as an accountant or coaching the Marquette Catholic High School dance team.

 

Kelsey Woodward - Coach

Kelsey Woodward comes from a gymnastics filled background, competing USAG for 8 years, and coaching since 2014. She loves to be in the gym, and takes great pride in working with athletes not only on their physical abilities, but their character as well. While working hard is extremely important, she makes sure to approach everything with a fun, positive attitude.

Kelsey graduated from Loras College in 2017 with a major in Kinesiology, and minors in Business and Psychology. Most recently, she received her Masters of Education with an emphasis in Positive Coaching from the University of Missouri.
